Job Summary
Senior Engineer responsible for directing or performing electrical power engineering assignments of major size/complexity for steam and gas generating stations. Responsibilities include load flow studies, short circuit analyses, protective relay coordination, cable and equipment sizing calculations, and power quality assessments, with deep expertise in generator ratings, transformer applications, switchgear, grounding, and compliance with NERC/NPCC/NYSRC reliability requirements. Also accountable for project engineering activities such as budgets, schedules, scoping documents, vendor relationships, and purchase specifications from conception through commissioning, coordinating with Steam & Gas Engineering teams, plant operations, and external vendors to deliver safe, reliable, and code-compliant solutions. The role requires proactive ownership, issue-framing, and functioning in active power generation plant environments. Note: This position does not provide STEM OPT employment.
