Sr. Engineer, Backend/Cloud - Policy (Hybrid)

Job Summary
Senior Engineer for CrowdStrike’s Policy Management team. Build and evolve cloud-based systems to manage and distribute configuration information to a fleet of endpoints, collaborating across cloud, front-end, and endpoint teams. Primarily implement in Go (with Python) while reviewing code in multiple languages (Go, Python, Unix shell, Typescript, C++, among others). Hybrid role based out of Sunnyvale, CA or Redmond, WA with in-office requirement twice a week. Responsibilities include designing scalable configurations distribution, mentoring teammates, enforcing testing and resilience practices, and participating in root-cause analysis of outages. Must be eligible for CJIS clearance, with 5+ years backend experience and a strong foundation in distributed systems. Travel 1-3x per year; remote-friendly company with occasional in-person or travel needs.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building and scaling back-end systems in production
- Must be eligible for CJIS clearance (requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges
- Experience with Golang, Python, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, Elastic Search, and/or similar technologies
- Prior experience with cloud services (AWS or Azure)
- Experience developing and deploying into Linux containers
- Ability to travel 1-3x per year
- Bachelor's or equivalent in computer science or related field (implied by background)
