Sr Engineer – Anhydrous Ammonia Specialist

Job Summary
Repair all material handling equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatics, and electronic systems across the Melrose Park Complex. Perform maintenance and repair functions on automated and mechanized material handling equipment, general building repairs, and grounds upkeep including snowplow and ice melt applications. Identify and separate recyclable items such as scrap metal and batteries. Operate powered equipment, forklifts, man-lifts, and diagnostic tools while maintaining safety compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Ensure accurate, economical, and efficient warehouse operations through adherence to company policies and hazardous material labeling protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience working with Anhydrous Ammonia
- Must have the ability to operate work related equipment and tools (hand and power) to include powered equipment, forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks, and all types of testing equipment
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must be able to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance, repair and service procedures
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work at both ground level and in high places to perform job tasks and duties
- Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities and tasks
- Must have the ability to learn and follow Company and Distribution Center policies and procedures encompassing work orders, purchase requisitions/orders, spare parts and supplies inventories
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend all labeling on hazardous materials and equipment in the facility(s)
- Must be able to identify recyclable items and separate them as necessary (scrap metal/iron, all types of batteries, etc.)
- Have basic knowledge of Fire Protection/Suppression systems operations in all Complex facilities
