Job Summary
Senior Electronic Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on onboard electronic equipment including Vessel Control System (Kongsberg ICMS), Thruster Control System (K-Thrust), Dynamic Positioning System (Kongsberg K-Pos) with reference systems, F&G/ESD (Kongsberg AIM Safe), Drilling Control and Instrumentation (NOV DCDA & SDI), BOP control systems, Navigation and Communications, CCTV and entertainment systems, all PLCs, and rig network computers/servers. Coordinates maintenance with other departments, plans PMs with a minimum six-week overview, maintains detailed historical records and equipment certification documents, and prioritizes maintenance for safety and environmental critical equipment (SECEs). Oversees barrier management and PS-related activities using Valaris VAMS, monitors barrier condition, and aids in reliability analysis and upgrades. Performs complex troubleshooting down to component level, provides handover to oncoming ET, maintains integrity of instrumentation in hazardous locations, keeps software registries current, maintains spare parts inventory, and conducts weekly maintenance entries and daily checks. Acts as Barrier Authority under VMS for Major Accident Hazards/Process Safety Risks. Requires strong collaboration, communication, and adherence to behavioral framework.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum five (5) years on a drilling vessel with at least two (2) years as ET
