Job Summary
Senior Electricity Market Optimization Software Engineer responsible for leading and contributing to advanced power-systems software design, development, testing, integration, and tuning of electricity market applications for Electric Utilities, ISOs, and TSOs. Collaborates with a cross-functional team to deliver on schedule within budget, mentors junior engineers, writes design and test documentation, interacts with customers and solution providers, and applies SDLC/Lean/Agile/XP practices, CI, and security-conscious development. Requires leadership capabilities, strong MIP/Power System Analysis experience, proficiency with source control (GitHub), and a proven ability to drive process improvements and deliver high-quality software. Eligibility requires legal work authorization in the U.S.; sponsorship may be available. Relocation assistance is provided; travel up to 10-20% and office work in Bothell, WA may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems OR in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- A minimum of Four (4) years of experience in Electricity Markets, Security Constrained Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), or Power System Analysis applications.
- Legal authorization to work in the country where the job is posted.
