Job Summary
Design and develop wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systems for heavy equipment, creating schematics, routing layouts, and installation drawings. Integrate electrical components including sensors, switches, controllers, and power modules while developing Bills of Materials and performing packaging studies with 3D CAD tools. Support machine-level electrical architecture, prototype builds, and production implementation, troubleshooting issues during field testing and conducting root cause analysis. Collaborate with controls, software, hydraulics, and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with OEM and industry standards. Requires 5+ years of experience in electrical design and harness development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design and wiring harness development
- Strong knowledge of wiring harness design
- Strong knowledge of harness routing
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics
- Strong knowledge of connector selection
- Strong knowledge of electrical integration
- Experience with electrical CAD tools and harness development software
- Understanding of vehicle electrical systems and power distribution
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with heavy equipment, automotive, agricultural, commercial vehicle, or off-highway products
- Experience with Capital Harness (Mentor Graphics)
- Experience with VeSys
- Experience with Zuken E3
- Experience with Creo Cabling
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
- Knowledge of CAN/J1939 communication protocols
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI requirements
- Knowledge of electrical validation and testing
