Job Summary
Senior Electrical Estimator responsible for computing cost factors and preparing construction estimates for planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Leads estimating team, manages work assignments and training, collaborates with marketing to review market potential and bids, promotes company capabilities to decision makers in owner or general contracting companies, and consults with clients and vendors to resolve issues. Focus areas include industrial, healthcare, and non-residential projects with typical values of $500,000+; emphasizes cost trends, cost reduction, and process improvement; local KC area travel with auto allowance.
Required Qualifications
- Ten or more years of electrical construction estimating experience with an electrical contractor
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in construction or electrical engineering (preferred, not required)
- Experience with computerized estimating programs such as Accubid Anywhere or Enterprise preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willing to learn new software
- Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record check; valid driver’s license required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction or electrical engineering (preferred, not required)
- LEED Certification preferred but not required
- Experience with computerized estimating programs such as Accubid Anywhere or Enterprise
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ten or more years of electrical construction estimating experience with an electrical contractor
- Accustomed to bidding on non-residential projects of $500,000 or more
