Job Summary
Lead design and development of embedded control systems and power delivery architectures for next-generation NeuroStar® products. Drive electrical design activities from concept through production, including circuit design, simulation, prototyping, testing, and documentation. Partner with cross-functional teams, EMC labs, and manufacturing partners to ensure product performance, reliability, quality, and regulatory compliance. Support product enhancements, sustaining engineering efforts, and root cause investigations for existing products while providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members. This role combines engineering design work with hands-on laboratory testing and prototype development, primarily desk-based (50-75%) with occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of product development experience
- Strong background in analog and digital circuit design, simulation and design tools, microcontroller-based systems, embedded development, and power electronics (MOSFETs, IGBTs)
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and solve challenging engineering problems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US
- The role is primarily desk-based (50-75%) with occasional travel
- the ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with medical device product development and compliance with IEC 60601-1 safety standards
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI compliance testing, switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), pulsed power systems, and electronic ballast design
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, reliability engineering methodologies, and design-for-quality best practices
