Job Summary
Lead electrical and control system design for automated manufacturing equipment and production lines, developing schematics, panel layouts, and wiring standards. Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, servo, and robotic systems while integrating equipment with factory MES, SCADA, and Industry 4.0 platforms. Define electrical BOMs, conduct risk assessments for machine safety compliance, and perform system commissioning, FAT, SAT, and site startup activities. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership during project execution, working closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams. Review customer requirements to translate them into control system designs and support technical presentations at customer meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in industrial automation or machine control system development
- Strong experience with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, or Omron
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus
- Ability to read and develop electrical schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent project management and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with machine vision systems, including Cognex, Keyence, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of robotics integration (FANUC, ABB, Epson, Universal Robots, etc.)
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or high-volume production environments
- Familiarity with UL, CE, NFPA79, and machine safety standards
- Experience in AI-enabled automation and Digital Twin technologies
