Job Summary
Develop and enforce safety and environmental policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Act as a consultant during regulatory inspections and resolve corrective actions through job hazard analysis and equipment reviews. Administer employee safety training programs, including curriculum development, SDS library maintenance, and chemical storage protocols. Conduct site safety audits, partner with HR to audit workplace records, and facilitate regulatory permit compliance. Provide 24-hour response for emergency or spill incidents, potentially requiring travel to remote locations. Deliver technical training to onsite personnel and stay current on evolving industrial hygiene and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant experience including the organization/implementation of facility-wide safety programs or equivalent
- Moderate travel of up to 25%
- Demonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards
- Experience and knowledge of Federal, State OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated ability to determine training needs, develop, organize and conduct training
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to interact with senior management and large employee groups
- Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, learning management systems and slide presentations
- Excellent communication skills in a variety of medium (PowerPoint, written reports & memoranda, and verbal and MS Teams)
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field or equivalent experience
