Sr. EHS Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct facility inspections, audits, and hazard assessments across four manufacturing sites in Western Michigan to drive regulatory compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and environmental standards. Lead incident and near-miss investigations, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions while monitoring performance metrics. Develop emergency response plans, coordinate safety training programs, and coach leaders on hazard recognition and risk reduction strategies. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and external agencies to improve safety performance and foster a proactive safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA/MIOSHA requirements and environmental compliance regulations
- Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action management
- Ability to identify workplace hazards and implement practical risk-reduction solutions
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly between facilities in Western Michigan
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting EHS programs across multiple manufacturing sites
- Knowledge of ergonomics, machine guarding, industrial hygiene, lockout/tagout, powered industrial trucks, and hazardous energy control programs
- Experience with EHS management systems such as Enablon, Benchmark Gensuite, or similar platforms
- Strong analytical and continuous improvement mindset
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Copilot
- Bilingual communication skills
