Job Summary
Assist the Registered Nurse and physician with assessments, examinations, and treatments while documenting patient care, vital signs, and observations. Maintain equipment and supplies, prioritize department needs, and organize time to meet daily demands of nursing care. Provide patient and family education, mentor staff on technical skills, and record specimens. Perform triage duties and other job-related tasks as assigned. Maintain state of readiness by conserving supplies and equipment for cost containment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Two years' technical experience
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA) or Paramedic certification
- Phlebotomist Technician license
