Job Summary
Assist the Registered Nurse and physician with assessments, examinations, and treatments while documenting patient care, vital signs, and bedside observations. Perform a variety of technical and patient care duties under supervision, including triage functions and specimen collection. Maintain equipment and supplies to ensure department readiness and assist in cost containment through proper ordering and conservation. Prioritize patient needs and organize time to meet daily demands of nursing care. Provide patient and family education while mentoring staff on technical skills within scope of practice. This part-time evening shift role supports Adventist Health Glendale's 515-bed hospital and urgent care network in the San Fernando Valley.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Two years' technical experience
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA) or Paramedic certification
- Phlebotomist Technician license
