Job Summary
SR Dispatcher responsible for overseeing outbound terminal dock operations, including loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight. Lead and manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule, using independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels. Ensure proper carrier loading by monitoring cube and weight, provide leadership to drivers and dock staff, monitor dock production and KPI goals, manage overtime, and maintain a safe, compliant work environment under DOT/OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
- Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
- Strong leadership qualities
- Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
- High aptitude for technology
- The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required
