Job Summary
Senior-level player-coach role at the intersection of DHS mission and advanced technology initiatives. Own the technical motion across the full DHS growth cycle, lead live demos, scope and build proofs of concept, design winning solutions in collaboration with capture and delivery, and contribute to accelerators that differentiate us in DHS pursuits. Build and evolve a Forward Deployed Engineering function, work directly with DHS customers, and serve as architect/engineer when momentum requires shipping real work. Responsibilities span executive technical communication, enterprise solution architecture, capability demonstrations, and developing reusable patterns and reference architectures to scale the forward deployed engineering function. Maintain alignment of technology with business strategy, ensure compliance and modernization standards, and ship credible, production-ready MVPs and demonstrations. Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degree. Experience with cloud-native stacks (Azure and/or AWS), modern programming languages (Python, TypeScript, .NET), infrastructure as code, containerized workloads, and CI/CD. Strong executive presence and ability to engage DHS leadership and C-suite stakeholders. Certifications and preferred security/PM frameworks noted. Salary range: $185,000–$250,000; comprehensive benefits described.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degree
- U.S. citizenship is required by the federal customer
- 15+ years of progressive experience leading enterprise technology strategy, modernization, and digital transformation programs across regulated federal environments
- 5+ years of hands-on software development, solutions engineering, or platform architecture experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a Federal environment, with significant depth in the DHS domain
- Certification(s): Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, CISSP, Security+, PMP, ITIL (preferred)
