Sr Director of Software Engineering - Order Management System / Java

Job Summary
Senior Director leads multiple technology implementations across OMS platforms, designs and implements distributed multi-asset Order Management Systems, and collaborates across technical domains to drive adoption of best practices. Responsible for oversight of core OMS infrastructure, workflow, pipelines, configuration modules, real-time distribution, and enhancements to improve execution efficiency. Works with stakeholders to align technology and business objectives, directs multi-team efforts, and ensures high-performance, scalable systems with end-to-end ownership across platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 10+ years of applied software engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within the domain
- Experience developing Java applications including hands-on coding
- In-depth understanding of data structures, synchronization, network communication protocols, multi-threaded programming and object oriented design
- Experience developing large-scale high-availability distributed systems with dynamic quality of service and linear scaling for availability and reliability
- Working proficiency with development toolsets: Gradle, Jules, Dev-Ops
- Experience with Equities Order Management Systems and Market Structure
- Drives delivery of low latency / high performance / high capacity Core Java OMS components
- Partners with Portfolio Trading / Program Trading stakeholders to deliver OMS capabilities
- Supports ETF trading workflows, including RFQs and Creation/Redemption lifecycle processes
- Oversees full stack/GUI workflows (Web/React) and leverages KDB / Analytics for real-time monitoring and trading analytics
