Job Summary
Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase (Card Technology) leads multiple technology areas, manages activities of multiple departments, and collaborates across technical domains to drive adoption and implementation of technical methods. Responsibilities include setting multi-department strategy for AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation; establishing guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse; driving cross-domain reuse and measurable capacity unlock outcomes; providing leadership across platforms, divisions, and lines of business; and interfacing with senior leaders and executives to drive consensus across objectives. Required qualifications include 10+ years in software engineering with formal training/certification, 5+ years leading technologists, experience with large cross-functional teams, agentic AI-enabled engineering adoption, responsible AI risk and governance, complex project leadership, and extensive cloud-native experience.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 10+ years applied experience in software engineering
- 5+ years of experience leading technologists
- Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists
- Experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations
- Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models
- Defining governance (human-in-the-loop decisioning, quality gates) and measurement frameworks
- Secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs across teams
- Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Extensive practical cloud native experience
