Job Summary
Sr Director of Software Engineering leads AI-enabled engineering across the SDLC, embedding AI into production workflows and driving adoption of agentic AI patterns (e.g., MCP, A2A) at JPMorgan Chase's Asset and Wealth Management AI4Tech team. Responsible for AI-native SDLC delivery, guardrails and responsible AI practices, cross-functional collaboration, production strategy and governance, and adoption metrics to improve developer productivity, code quality, security, and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on large scale technology program concepts
- 10+ years of applied experience in a relevant tech domain
- 5+ years experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items
- Deep expertise in AI/LLMs and their application to software engineering workflows (coding, design, security, testing, release)
- Hands-on experience with agentic systems, tool orchestration, and integration patterns (e.g., MCP, A2A, function/tool calling)
- Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models, including governance, measurement frameworks, and secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs across teams
- Strong communication with executive-level stakeholders and ability to translate engineering depth to business outcomes
- Experience with cloud-native ecosystems and AWS services; familiarity with modern data architectures; secure SDLC practices and developer security tooling
