Job Summary

Director/Head of Compensation responsible for evolving Verkada's compensation philosophy and building out the global compensation function. Serves as trusted advisor to leaders, partners with Finance, People Partners, Recruiters, Hiring Managers, and Executives on pay decisions, compensation processes, and job evaluation. Owns programs like merit cycles, equity refresh, and special awards; develops tools and processes to streamline compensation workflows from job posting to internal approvals. Requires on-site presence at the San Mateo, CA office five days a week; 7+ years in compensation and 10+ years total experience with a data-driven, analytical approach. Strong influence and communication skills to interact with c-level executives and lead compensation strategy across a high-growth tech company.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience building out Compensation
  • 10+ years total work experience
  • Experience in a high growth technology business (pre-IPO or recently post)
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills
  • Data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and ability to influence executives
  • Experience working with Finance, People Partners, Recruiters, Hiring Managers, and Executives on pay decisions
