Job Summary
Sr. Director of Engineering (Site Lead) for Ayar Labs seeks a hands-on, technically deep leader to manage the India IDC engineering activities, drive end-to-end silicon development, firmware and validation, and manufacturing readiness across advanced SoC products. The role requires building and scaling global teams, guiding prototyping through qualification, and partnering with design, DV, physical design, packaging, and product engineering to achieve customer deployments. Responsibilities include leading SoC firmware and silicon validation teams, driving silicon bring-up and debug, owning productization from prototype to HVM ramp, establishing execution methodologies, and mentoring engineering managers while growing the India engineering organization. Ideal candidate has strong leadership, deep expertise in silicon embedded firmware, post-silicon validation, DFT/DFX, emulation, ATE, and manufacturing test, and a track record delivering complex SoC programs in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 18+ years of semiconductor industry experience with progressive leadership responsibilities
- Strong experience in: Silicon Embedded Firmware, Post-Silicon Validation, Silicon Bring-up and Debug, SoC Productization, DFT/DFX methodologies, Emulation and System Validation, ATE and Manufacturing Test
- Proven track record delivering complex SoC programs from development through production release
- Experience building and scaling global engineering teams
- Strong understanding of the full silicon lifecycle, including design, validation, qualification, and manufacturing ramp
- Excellent technical leadership, communication, and organizational skills
