Sr. Director Construction Counsel

Senior Director – Construction Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor to the Customer Installation Group on construction-related matters from project development through close-out and warranty periods. Responsibilities include structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of construction agreements (EPC, EPC-lite, design-build, construction management, subcontractor, supplier, services, and commissioning), maintaining standard contract forms and playbooks (including AIA), advising on risk allocation (payments, schedule/delay, liquidated damages, change orders, insurance, performance bonding, warranties, indemnities, liabilities, termination rights), supporting claims avoidance and resolution, handling pre-litigation disputes with litigation counsel, providing guidance on licensing, permitting interfaces, safety obligations, and regulatory compliance, and coordinating with procurement, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to align contracting with project delivery. The role also emphasizes process improvements for contracting workflows, contract administration, risk tracking, and training non-legal stakeholders (project managers, engineers, commercial teams). Preferred qualifications include in-house experience in energy/infrastructure/tech sectors, multi-jurisdictional construction program experience, familiarity with public/private owner contracting, and international contracting experience. In-office in San Jose or Delaware is a plus. The position is FULL TIME and based in one of today’s most exciting technologies, with a compensation range of $207,500 to $298,500 and standards benefits.
