Sr. Director, Assistant Controller

Job Summary

Lead the global accounting organization by overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement flux analysis. Prepare financial statements, manage general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and equity administration, while directing intercompany and international accounting operations. Serve as the technical accounting subject matter expert for US GAAP/IFRS, reviewing complex transactions, implementing accounting policies, and strengthening the internal control environment for SOX readiness. Coordinate the annual external audit, design scalable accounting processes to reduce manual effort, and lead systems optimization and AI automation initiatives across the close lifecycle. Partner with the Controller, Revenue Accounting, and executive leadership to build a best-in-class accounting function that supports company growth and operational maturity.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry leadership experience
  • experience in multi-entity, public-company SOX environment
  • Hands-on systems orientation
  • experience improving ERP workflows, reporting, and automation across accounting processes
  • Experience in NetSuite (or similar EPR)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of foreign currency accounting
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls
  • Strong knowledge of close processes
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated success leading teams through scale, process improvement, and organizational change
  • Experience building and improving accounting operations in a fast-paced SaaS or technology company
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence outcomes across Finance and broader business functions
  • Strong executive presence
