Job Summary

Lead the San Diego regional team overseeing property damage repair and reconstruction projects, driving operational excellence through cost control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Establish clear performance expectations for a team of Project Managers, manage Key Performance Indicators, and maintain ownership of standard operating procedures and project management tools. Direct regional performance tracking by collaborating with cross-functional leadership to perform root cause analysis, reduce future property damage, and manage pollution claims with Risk Management and Legal departments. Ensure project compliance through regular site walks and oversee financial integrity via budgeting, forecasting, and strict adherence to accounting controls. Optimize vendor and contractor performance by aligning partners to properties and monitoring results. Requires 10+ years of construction management experience, PMP certification, and 60% on-site presence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field
  • MBA
  • engineering / architecture license
  • 10 - 15 years
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in construction management, maintenance, facilities, environmental services, or engineering
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including experience managing other managers and cross-functional partners
  • Proficiency in as-built plan reading
  • CAL OSHA 10-hour certification or better
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Construction Management certifications
  • Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)
  • Requires the ability to work on-site at properties approximately 60% of the time to oversee reconstruction activities
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Salesforce, and Capital Project Management systems (PPM)
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Information Systems (Riskonnect)
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as the business requires
  • Occasional travel required

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders and present complex regional performance data to Senior Leadership
  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce, Coupa, and Google Workspace to optimize workflows and drive data-driven decision-making
  • Expert-level ability to direct high-volume project portfolios while mitigating risk and meeting financial targets
  • Deep knowledge of apartment construction, environmental remediation (ERR) standards, and restoration design
  • Proficiency in utilizing root cause analysis and advanced analytics to implement regional risk mitigation strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across matrixed departments
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field
  • MBA is preferred or engineering / architecture license
  • Preferred Years of Relevant Work Experience: 10 - 15 years
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Construction Management certifications preferred
