Job Summary
Lead dimensional control strategies to ensure vehicle components and assemblies meet fit, finish, and functional requirements across BIW, closures, and major assemblies. Develop and manage critical product and process characteristics while maintaining dimensional control plans for all critical assemblies. Support parts and system validation using Geo fixtures, Cubes, Ring gauges, and PCFs to achieve Cp/Cpk > 1.33 for all critical features. Review supplier parts to prevent dimensional build issues and recommend best gauging methods to identify special and common cause problems. Lead cross-functional teams through root cause analysis of dimensional issues in the plant, launch support, and supplier interfacing to drive process standardization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with fixture designs, checking aids and datum strategies
- Excellent knowledge of GD&T
- Manufacturing/assembly experience with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Automotive Stamping, Body in White assemblies/subassemblies, Drivetrain castings/gears, Battery modules
