Sr. Digital Design Engineer, Team Lead

Job Summary
Lead the digital design team in Edinburgh to define and implement digital architecture for mixed-signal motor drive SoCs; own project schedules across RTL, Verification, DFT, and Synthesis to ensure on-time delivery of tapeout-ready designs; drive the digital architectural roadmap for motor drivers; manage resources and risk; serve as the primary digital technical contact for Marketing, Systems, and Analog Design; mentor junior engineers and foster cross-site collaboration; ensure Functional Safety (FuSa) compliance per ISO 26262; require leadership experience and strong communication; travel up to 10-20% to support customers and global teams.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience leading small-to-medium sized design teams
- 8+ years in digital design or architecture including CPU subsystems and interconnect fabrics
- PhD or Master’s degree in Electronics or related field
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Cadence toolsets for front-end design flow (nice-to-have)
- Direct experience leading ISO 26262 compliant designs (ASIL B/D) (nice-to-have)
- Willingness to travel up to 10-20% to Europe, the Americas, and Asia (travel requirements)
- Strong understanding of Digital Design Workflow and functional safety considerations (FuSa)
- Proven capability to define digital architectural roadmaps and supervise tapeout-ready designs
- Mentoring and cross-functional collaboration across multi-site teams
