Job Summary
Lead cross-functional Agile teams and guide technical decisions for large-scale digital transformation initiatives. Design scalable, secure, and modern digital solutions, including system integrations, modernization, and cloud-native architectures. Define solution architecture for enterprise-scale systems while communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Mentor developers and technical leads, leveraging experience in UX, service design, and human-centred design. This contract role offers competitive hourly compensation of $115-$120 and is based in Canada with remote flexibility. A Bachelor's degree and five-plus years of architectural leadership are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent education will be considered
- 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional Agile product teams, providing architectural direction and mentoring developers/technical leads
- 5+ years of experience as a Software/Digital Architect designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions
- 4+ years of experience defining solution architecture for large-scale systems, including integrations, modernization, and cloud-native design
- 5+ years of experience communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influencing decisions
- 2+ years of experience working with UX, service design, design thinking, or human-centred design teams
Desired Qualifications
- Secure development, RBAC/ABAC and Zero Trust Architecture
- API design, RESTful services and system integrations
- CI/CD, automated testing and observability
- Legacy system modernization
- Containers, orchestration and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Relational and non-relational databases
- Public-sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards
- Public-sector digital transformation and modernization experience is highly preferred
- Recent experience demonstrating modern Agile, cloud, DevSecOps, and digital delivery practices will be considered an asset
