Job Summary

Lead the development of primary systems and sub-systems for commercial HVAC equipment, with a primary focus on large tonnage Screw Compressors. Own cross-functional collaboration with design, test, manufacturing, sales, and supply chain to ensure designs meet business needs, drive the new product development phase-gate process, provide technical guidance to junior engineers, and mentor more junior engineers. Utilize a strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, structures, and materials to develop and test components, sub-systems, and total systems; perform DOE/DFMEA/DVP&R analyses and utilize MATLAB/ANSYS/VapCyc tools to model and simulate systems; apply PLM tools for lifecycle management and lead technical projects from concept through product realization. Preferred qualification includes a Master’s degree and experience in HVACR compressors. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Understanding of mechanical concepts such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, structures, and materials
  • Experience in developing and testing Compressors for hydraulic applications
  • Hands-on experience testing electro-mechanical equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • Capabilities with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools
  • Knowledge of cross-functional groups such as Controls, EE, Mfg, Supply Chain, Design, Quality
  • Understanding of New Product Development processes
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles
  • Project Management capabilities
  • Knowledge of engineering tools and analysis methods such as DOE, DFMEA, DVP&R
  • Knowledge of vapor compression cycle
  • Capabilities in modeling/simulation tools such as MATLAB, ANSYS, VapCyc
