Sr Developer Order Management

Job Summary

Lead technical development and architecture for Sterling Order Management, Web Store, Call Center, and inventory modules. Design, build, and enhance solutions covering order capture, fulfillment orchestration, inventory visibility, payments, cancellations, and returns. Manage full SDLC activities including sprint planning, estimation, and code reviews while collaborating with QA, product managers, and stakeholders. Build integrations between Sterling OMS and external systems, cloud platforms, and middleware to improve system stability and scalability. Troubleshoot system issues, develop reusable libraries, and mentor team members to drive technical performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • 5-7+ years of overall Information Technology experience
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and enhancing Sterling Order Management applications across retail environments
  • 3+ years of experience with the IBM Sterling Order Management Suite, including demonstrated subject matter expertise
  • Experience delivering at least two full lifecycle implementations (requirements gathering, design, development, implementation, and optimization)
  • Ability to lead full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities, including requirements, design, build, testing, and implementation
  • Hands-on experience with Java and OMS development, including SOA, XML/XSLT, REST, and JSON
  • Experience with solution estimation and team structure definition
  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects in an Agile environment
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Order Management (versions 9.5 and/or 10)
  • Experience with inventory management systems and processes
  • Proficiency with development tools such as Eclipse IDE and SoapUI
  • Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, DB2)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and support the development of team members
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet standard vision and hearing requirements for job performance
  • Adherence to company work hours, policies, and professional standards
  • Regular office attendance required

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, GitHub, or Bitbucket
  • Knowledge of IBM Sterling Store and IBM Call Center applications preferred
