Sr. Designer – Instrumentation, Electrical, & Controls

Job Summary
Develop and locate electrical and instrumentation equipment within 3D model environments using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks to support new or existing facility designs. Interpret Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams to establish scope, then prepare design drawings, concept sketches, and construction-ready documentation including orthographic plans, one-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams. Perform independent QA/QC reviews of deliverables, coordinate I&E requirements with multi-discipline teams, and respond to Requests for Information throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires hands-on leadership under the direction of the Design Supervisor and Engineering Manager, with a focus on complex deliverables in the chemical and oil & gas industries.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in power distribution or controls systems design
- Minimum of eight (8) years of current experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office
- Detailed knowledge in the application of Codes and current Standards, including but not limited to: National Electrical Code (NEC), ANSI/ISA-5.1-2022, API-RP500
- Ability to independently research and interpret equipment data, vendor documentation, and technical references
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders
- Must be available for in-person, computer-based assessment
