Job Summary
Review municipal zoning ordinances and agency regulations to determine land development limitations for commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Prepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports, including utility service research, outside agency regulations, and site visits. Design utility system plans and conceptual utility plans while performing hydraulic calculations for pumping systems and water/wastewater facilities. Prepare construction cost estimates, technical reports, and written correspondence to clients, contractors, and outside agencies. Coordinate comprehensive site plan applications with clients and project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years' experience in Civil Utilities Engineering
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) required
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle
- Familiar with the use of AutoCAD to assist in the production of site plan drawings
- Knowledge of the planning and zoning process
- Knowledge of Hydraulic and Stormwater Design Programs
- Design and drafting capabilities
- Grading and drainage design skills
- Utility design experience including water main extensions, gravity sewer conveyance systems, pump station and force mains
- Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals
- Proficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D
- Proficient in the use of Hydraulic Software i.e. Hydraflow, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
- Proficient in the use of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe to prepare design document markups
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Independent and critical thinking abilities
- Superior organizational and delegation ability
- Ability to work and lead in a team orientated environment
- Client management experience
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license prepferred
