Job Summary
Plan, design, develop, and implement major plant engineering projects to create and maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities. Lead activities to improve manufacturing process quality and effectiveness, including substrate attach, die attach, wire bonding, hermetic sealing, and environmental screening. Perform highly complex activities for the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods while analyzing current production processes to apply lean and six sigma principles. Provide technical guidance to product operations, investigate and solve manufacturing problems, and develop operational procedures and assembly guides. Justify and acquire new equipment, participate in cost studies, and mentor process engineering staff.
Required Qualifications
- Mastery of MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38534
- Mastery of New Product Introduction (NPI) and development
- Understanding of common electronic manufacturing documentation
- Ability to read and write English at an intermediate level
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- 10+ years' experience in a similar environment
- Ability to work in a production environment wearing a smock, hairnet and face mask as required
- Corrected vision with the ability to work with fine tools under a microscope

Desired Qualifications
- Lean/Six Sigma experience is preferred
- Experience working for an ISO9000n or AS9100 accredited organization is a plus
- Must be well versed in programming and supporting automated placement systems and wire bonder - Palomar, MRSI, K&S, H&K or similar systems
