Job Summary
Senior-level design automation engineer responsible for delivering automated production systems for BAW/SAW semiconductor manufacturing lines. Lead the automation lifecycle from requirements gathering and functional specifications through development, testing (UAT), deployment, and operator training. Automate manual operations to reduce errors and improve efficiency and product quality, with initial focus on automating the Probe area. Collaborate with process technology, manufacturing, and quality control to align solutions with production goals. Requires experience with SECS/GEM, SQL databases, JavaScript, and control-system development, plus strong communication in English and Japanese. Five+ years in automation system development for semiconductor equipment is preferred. Location is Osaka, Japan; on-site (in-person) work expected.
Required Qualifications
- Thoroughly discuss manufacturing site operations with manufacturing members, process members, and yield members to understand current operations, and be able to propose and reach agreements with users on timely system solutions.
- Experience in creating requirements definition documents and basic design documents
- Ability to create project schedules, manage progress, and report regularly.
- Experience in system development using SQL (SQL Server, Oracle)
- Java Script development skills
- Experience in control system development
- Basic English communication skills (including document creation and material creation)
- Five years or more of experience in the above-mentioned work
- Automation system development for semiconductor equipment
- Knowledge of and experience using SECS-I/II, HSMS, and GEM
- Knowledge of various servers, storage, networks, and databases
- Candidates with knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes are especially welcome
- Ability to promote work in collaboration with the process technology department, manufacturing department, and quality control department is preferred
- Ability to explain things clearly and accurately. Ability to accurately understand the needs of others.
