Sr. Database Developer (Temp to Perm Position)

Job Summary
Sr. Database Developer responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines; developing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views; creating ETL/ELT processes to support analytics and reporting; ensuring data quality and reliability across data platforms; optimizing performance through indexing and execution plan analysis; monitoring data validation; supporting SSRS and Power BI reporting; mentoring junior developers; and performing related duties. Required skills include Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, PySpark, Power BI, Azure DevOps, Azure SQL Database (preferred), Microsoft Fabric (preferred), Python or PowerShell, and strong collaboration and documentation abilities. Minimum qualifications emphasize a BS in a technical field and 7+ years in database development/data engineering/BI, with a proven track record in data pipelines, analytics, and cross-functional teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of progressive experience in IT with focus on database development, data engineering, and business intelligence solutions
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Microsoft Fabric, PySpark, and Power BI
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database (preferred)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (preferred)
- Proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Office 365, SharePoint Online)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Create and maintain clear documentation for database designs, processes, and queries
- Participation in code reviews and adoption of development standards
