Job Summary
Senior Data Scientist to partner with North America FP&A to embed advanced analytics into finance decision-making. Build and apply big-data techniques to high-volume datasets across transactions, volumes, pricing, and client behavior. Design and implement statistical/econometric models (regressions, forecasts, scenario analyses, sensitivity analyses) and develop repeatable analytic frameworks for planning cycles. Translate complex results into executive-ready narratives and visuals, and identify opportunities to craft reusable analytical products for NA FP&A. Collaborate with Visa teams to deliver comprehensive solutions, mentor on modern analytic techniques, and support FP&A focus areas such as Spend Metrics, CoV, unit economics, and revenue analytics. Requires experience with SQL-based environments, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI, and strong communication across data science, finance, and strategy. This is a hybrid role with days in office to be confirmed by the hiring manager.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or PhD; 5+ years with Bachelor’s or equivalent experience; 0 years with PhD as applicable
- Experience with SQL/Hive or Spark; Python/R; data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI)
- Experience translating analytics into business/financial insights; senior stakeholder communication
- Experience with macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, scenario modeling, and FP&A support
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent-work skills
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment and manage multiple workstreams
