Job Summary
Design and develop high quality, scalable software modules for the next generation analytics solution suite, leveraging AWS cloud and Big Data technologies. Provide technical leadership and consultation to cross-functional teams, coordinate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements, and implement efficient data engineering solutions. Serve as primary technical point of contact for cross-functional units, oversee project components and personnel, evaluate alternative solutions, and ensure reliable operations including disaster recovery planning. The role emphasizes hands-on development in data analysis, data manipulation, ETL, data warehousing, and Java-based implementations within an insurance-domain context in Charlotte, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3 years of related occupation experience
- Experience with Data analysis, manipulation, and development; Big Data technologies on a Hadoop platform (Scoop, Hive, Pig, NoSQL)
- SQL
- Data wrangling technologies; ETL, Data Integration, Big Data, Cloud (AWS) Technologies
- Oracle, Talend, Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, Autosys Scheduling Tool, Subversion, Version Control Tools
- Data warehouse applications in financial/insurance domain
- Programming in Java
