Job Summary
Sr. Data Analyst at Varo leading advanced analytics initiatives: develop Customer 360 vector models, modernize data architecture with a semantic summary layer, deploy GenAI applications to automate manual processes in Disputes, and translate insights into strategic recommendations for leadership. Role is hybrid and based in San Francisco or New York, with responsibilities spanning strategic insights, cross-functional collaboration, model development, and data-driven product/operational optimization. Requires 3+ years in banking analytics, proficiency in SQL/Python, AWS (Athena, Glue, Quick) and Tableau, strong independent work ethic, and ability to communicate complex analysis to executives. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years analytics experience in banking or fintech preferred
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Hands-on experience with AWS stack (Athena, Glue, Quick) and Tableau
- Independent, fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills translating technical work to executive leadership
- Experience applying data modeling and AI foundations; familiarity with LLMs and AI tooling
- Experience with third-party data partners (Visa, Plaid) and modern data tools (Amazon QuickSight, Databricks Genie, ThoughtSpot, Hex) is a plus
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in MIS or related field desirable
