Job Summary
Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory tests, preparing and determining suitability of solutions, reagents, and stains. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment by making routine repairs or notifying contacts for complex issues. Support clinical and research aspects of the laboratory while handling general duties such as ordering supplies, lab housekeeping, and maintaining safety records. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related science field, two years of laboratory experience, and ASCP Cytogenetics certification. Reports to the Lead Clinical Lab Scientist or Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, or related field
- 2 years of related laboratory experience
- Experience must include clinical laboratory rotation
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory tests and equipment acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent education & training that meets minimum science coursework (biology, chemistry, genetics, microbiology, hematology or related - making one eligible to sit for certification)
- ASCP certification for Cytogenetics, CG(ASCP)
- Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position
- Saturdays Rotating
