Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer (Security Assessment)

Job Summary
Drive the full lifecycle of vendor, application, compliance, and security assessments by coordinating launches, managing exception requests, and developing pre/post-implementation requirements. Execute technical security assessments of new tools and systems independently while guiding end-to-end completion and delivering actionable recommendations to stakeholders. Collaborate with IT, compliance, legal, and procurement teams to ensure comprehensive coverage, maintain accurate documentation for transparency, and continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains. Provide security consulting to influence best practice adoption and support compliance audits or incident response as needed.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Cybersecurity, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT
- 3+ years hands-on technical security experience
- Proven experience performing technical security assessments
- Knowledge breadth across a variety of network and security infrastructures and best practices
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively and adapting to changing priorities
- Willingness to cover US, EMEA or APAC working hours following a sustainable rotation schedule
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- Minimum of 5-8 years related experience
- Master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience
- PhD and 0-2 years experience
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with common security assessment tools and methodologies
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, PMP, CISA)
- Experience with building and/or using AI agents
