Job Summary

Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates for projects ranging from $50m to $100m, including quantity takeoffs, labor, equipment, and material costs. Manage the full bid process by developing bid packages, soliciting subcontractor bids, and submitting proposals while analyzing architectural plans to ensure accurate component estimation. Identify potential cost savings, work with subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, and monitor project budgets post-award to adjust for actual costs throughout the lifecycle. Provide guidance and supervision to Estimators and Project Estimators, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all estimates. Must be available for on-call rotation after hours and weekends to address emergencies, delays, or bad weather at the jobsite. Requires a current driver's license and ability to travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business
  • Minimum of 8 years of construction experience as an estimator
  • Current driver's license
  • Work on-site at a main office or project location
  • Must be physically fit enough to function safely on a project site and office setting
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers
  • Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers
  • May be called after hours and on weekends to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite
  • May require travel

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced capabilities in construction estimation software (preferred – Destini Estimator)
  • Advanced understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and building codes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
