Sr. Cost Accountant for a well established manufacturing company

Job Summary
Sr. Cost Accountant responsible for overseeing cost accounting processes (standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation), preparing cost reports for senior management, aiding budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs, controlling inventory accuracy, identifying process improvements, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance, and collaborating with production, engineering, and procurement to manage costs. Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, 5-7 years cost accounting experience in manufacturing, ERP proficiency (Epicor or similar), advanced Excel, and strong analytical/communication skills. Location: Carlsbad, CA; onsite. Ability to integrate cost insights into financial reporting and drive cost optimization across manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in ERP systems (Epicor or similar preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
