Job Summary
Senior Corporate Reliability Engineer – Docks leads reliability and maintenance engineering for dockside equipment (cranes, ship unloaders, conveyors) across ASR Group’s maritime network, driving preventive/predictive maintenance, RCFA, Lean Six Sigma projects, and capital improvements to improve uptime, safety, and productivity. Responsible for CMMS SAP records, coordinating shutdowns with Dock Operations/Maintenance/Engineering, ensuring OSHA maritime safety standards and USCG compliance, supporting MOC processes, and providing technical troubleshooting for mechanical, hydraulic, and structural dock equipment. Develops dock reliability KPIs and dashboards and leads weekly/monthly operations reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Marine Engineering or similar Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
- minimum of 5 years experience in Dock Reliability Operations OR High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and minimum of 10 years experience in Dock Reliability Operations
- Experience with cranes, ship unloaders, large material handlers, belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, bulk scales, and mechanical systems (hydraulic drives, gearboxes, motors, structural components)
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies, reliability engineering tools, and capital project development and execution
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is significantly preferred
- CMRP preferred
- Proficiency with SAP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
- Ability to lead CI initiatives, root cause analyses, and maintenance shutdown planning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel 30-50% to multiple docks across North America
