Job Summary
Commission environmental-control systems by diagnosing and repairing HVAC and building automation projects, including hardware and software design for small BAS. Manage Owner Direct Controls and strategic District Office projects while overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and multiple vendors. Utilize knowledge of electronics, airflow, hydronics, and protocols like BACnet and Modbus to execute work on-site at customer locations. Requires a valid driver's license, 10+ years of HVAC/BAS experience, and proficiency with handheld computers. This hybrid role supports Trane Technologies' mission to deliver sustainable climate solutions for buildings, homes, and transportation.
Required Qualifications
- A diploma/degree or equivalent required in Engineering, HVAC, or Building Control in relevant field
- 10 plus years of experience in HVAC/BAS
- Knowledge of industrial system protocols like BACnet, Modbus, LONTalk
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software
- Working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
- Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- Pass additional drug screening
