Job Summary
Senior Controls Engineer for Disney Ride Controls team focusing on developing and implementing electrical and automated control systems for high-volume laundry production equipment. Responsible for designing, commissioning, and supporting control hardware and software, including embedded systems, Rockwell and Siemens PLCs, motor drive and servo systems, safety analyses, and HMI/SCADA interfaces. The role emphasizes leadership within project teams, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and delivering safety-critical control solutions across multiple facilities, with a hybrid on-site role based in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls
- Proficient in PLC programming and C/C++
- Experience designing and architecting control systems hardware to UL 508a (e.g., Motor Control Cabinets, IO enclosures, field sensors, cabling)
- Experience in AC and DC Drive programming and tuning
- Experience in safety related control systems
- Experience in software development planning and documentation
- Experience in version control and collaboration software tools
- Knowledge of industrial network protocols (AS-I, INTERBUS, ControlNet, Profinet, CIP, Ethernet IP)
- Experience in software testing and commissioning
- Experience drawing, interpreting and marking up AutoCAD assemblies and schematics
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Masters preferred in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
- Familiarity with IEC 61131, ladder diagram, and Structured Text
- Experience with risk assessments and IEC/ISO functional safety standards
- Knowledge of I/O and Supervisory Network systems
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic servo control systems
- Experience on industrial automated laundry facilities is a plus
- Experience in entertainment ride and show industry is a plus
