Job Summary
Sr. Consultant, Accounting Policy who serves as a technical accounting expert, consulting on complex accounting issues, maintaining and interpreting accounting policies, and ensuring compliant application of accounting standards. Will partner with management and auditors to assess the impact of new and emerging standards, resolve complex issues, and ensure accurate disclosures and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include advising on complex technical accounting matters, maintaining and reviewing accounting policies, providing SME on policy and compliance, assisting with deal structuring for accounting treatment, staying current on emerging standards, ensuring disclosures (e.g., 10-K/10-Q) are accurate, identifying and mitigating accounting risks, and communicating policy developments to leaders. Requires a 4-year degree (or equivalent), 5–7+ years of relevant experience, and an active CPA license; experience in investment accounting and familiarity with treasury/derivatives is preferred, with AI tools in accounting research a plus. This role is Hybrid with 3 days/week in the Lincoln, NE office and relocation assistance is not available.
Required Qualifications
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
- 5–7+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally including Big 4 public accounting
- Active CPA license (Required)
- Experience in investment accounting is highly preferred, as is familiarity with treasury and/or derivatives accounting
- Experience utilizing AI tools to assist in performing accounting research and documentation is preferred but not required
