Job Summary
Senior Construction Project Manager – Healthcare at Grady Health System responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex healthcare construction projects from concept through close-out, including new construction, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades within active healthcare facilities. Lead all phases (programming, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, close-out); manage multiple concurrent projects; act as the owner’s representative coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Develop and manage budgets, schedules, cash flow forecasts, and risk mitigation; ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (FGI Guidelines, Joint Commission, OSHPD as applicable), local/state building codes, and infection control protocols. Oversee contractor performance, change orders, pay applications, and contract administration. Collaborate with clinical, facilities, IT, and operations teams to minimize patient-care disruption; conduct site visits; identify and resolve issues; lead project meetings; provide reporting to executive leadership. Support strategic and capital planning; mentor junior PMs and contribute to process improvements. Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8–12+ years of construction project management experience, with significant experience in healthcare facilities
- Proven track record managing projects in active hospital or clinical environments
- Strong knowledge of healthcare codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Experience managing budgets ranging from mid-size renovations to large capital projects
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED (preferred)
- Experience working directly for a healthcare system or hospital owner (preferred)
- Familiarity with design-build and IPD delivery models (preferred)
- OSHPD/HCAI project experience (if applicable by region)
- Strong ability to mentor junior project managers and lead process improvements
