Job Summary
Senior Commissioning Technician responsible for commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting DC fast charging stations and EVSE, including initial power-up, software/firmware updates, validating network connectivity, and ensuring compliance with NEC/IEC/OSHA safety standards. Works with engineering/project teams to resolve commissioning issues, maintains detailed commissioning documents, and provides customer and technician training. Requires experience with high-voltage systems, EVSE protocols (OCPP, Modbus, CAN, TCP/IP), diagnostic tools, and the ability to travel to project sites.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in electrical installations, commissioning, or maintenance of EV charging stations or similar electrical systems
- Experience with high-voltage systems or power electronics is a plus
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, circuit protection, and power distribution
- Familiarity with EVSE communication protocols (OCPP, Modbus, CAN, TCP/IP)
- Experience with network troubleshooting, firmware updates, and remote monitoring systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Travel ability; field service experience preferred
- Licensure or certification such as Licensed Electrician or Journeyman (preferred)
- OSHA 10/30 Certification (preferred)
- EVSE manufacturer-specific trainings/certifications (ABB, Tritium, etc.) (preferred)
