Job Summary
Senior Coding Compliance Educator leads advanced coding education for individual providers and large provider groups using remote methods. Responsibilities include delivering training on CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding, designing specialty-specific documentation and coding programs, analyzing coding performance indicators, scheduling and coordinating sessions with provider offices and groups, developing training materials reflecting current industry standards, and addressing coding-project needs to improve provider performance. The role requires CPC certification and 7+ years of coding experience, deep knowledge of AMA CPT and CMS ICD-10 guidelines, proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), HIPAA compliance, and strong communication and presentation skills for physicians and executives; remote work capability and flexibility to adapt training resources to evolving regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC)
- 7+ years of experience in coding CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS
- Strong background in developing and leading provider training sessions
- In-depth knowledge of AMA CPT and CMS ICD-10 coding and reporting guidelines
- Extensive understanding of CMS and AMA coding guidelines for diagnostic and procedural code assignment
- Proficiency with Google Office Suite, Electronic Medical Records, Monday, Codify, and related software
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools such as Salesforce
- Experience navigating EHRs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for large groups of physicians and executives
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with physicians, NPPs, staff, and external parties
- Remote work readiness including technical requirements
