Job Summary
Senior Cloud Engineer – IoT responsible for designing and operating a cloud-native platform supporting hundreds of thousands of connected devices; ingestion via MQTT, normalization and semantic time-series storage, and delivery through external APIs and platform services; emphasizes scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency. Applies OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC, and OpenTelemetry; leverages serverless/cloud services; automated testing and deployment pipelines; on-call during platform rollout; collaborates with customer engineering teams; operates with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) and CI/CD automation.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years building and operating production cloud systems on AWS
- Experience with IoT platforms, streaming architectures, or large-scale event processing systems
- Experience supporting MQTT-based device fleets or comparable streaming workloads (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
- Demonstrated expertise evaluating and operating time-series databases and telemetry storage systems
- Strong technical design and architecture documentation skills
- Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar)
- Strong CI/CD implementation and automation experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
