Job Summary
Senior-level role in Abbott Diagnostics based in San Diego, CA. You will participate in product definition, system architecture, requirements management (including risk/hazard analyses), system V&V, and design control documentation. Responsible for developing and following procedures to execute experiments, documenting results, and integrating analytical elements with software, hardware, and electronics. You’ll collaborate across cross-functional teams to optimize design processes, define requirements, and communicate findings. Required skills include Azure DevOps, Power BI, experience with Scrum/agile processes, and building semantic data models; domain knowledge spans cloud, diagnostics, and electro-mechanical/software systems relevant to infectious diseases. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum 4 years relevant experience; MSc with relevant experience acceptable
- Solid knowledge of general engineering and science principles
- Strong knowledge of development processes consistent with ISO and FDA design controls
- Knowledge of contemporary design control and risk management practices
- Understanding of electro-mechanical, software, mathematical, chemical or biochemical processes in diagnostic systems
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Power BI, and Scrum processes (preferred but noted in description)
- Ability to participate in product definition, system architecture, requirements writing and analysis
- Experience with system verification, validation, and design control documentation
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with integration of software, hardware, and electronics components
- Experience in test result collection, analysis, and documentation
