Job Summary
Design PostgreSQL schemas, integrate with LLM APIs (GPT, Gemini), and orchestrate multi-step workflows using Temporal for AI-powered outfit image generation and "Complete the Look" recommendations. Build RAG pipelines with Qdrant and internal human-in-the-loop review interfaces in ClojureScript (re-frame) to support 175+ enterprise retailers and 100M+ monthly shoppers. Requires deep functional programming expertise, optimized query writing, and fluency in communicating complex technical designs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- Strong production experience with Clojure
- Deep functional programming understanding
- Comfort within the Clojure ecosystem (shadow-cljs, re-frame, reagent)
- Solid experience modeling complex domains
- Designing schemas
- Writing optimized queries
- Managing migrations in PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs
- Prompt engineering
- Context windows
- Managing non-deterministic outputs in production
- High-energy team player who thrives on real-time architecture debates and solving technical problems 'out loud'
- Fluency in communicating complex technical designs and participating in live engineering syncs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestrators (Airflow, Step Functions)
- Experience with vector databases (Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate) and RAG architectures
- Knowledge of image generation, multimodal AI models, or MCP (Model Context Protocol)
